Executive Director
Healthy Schools Network, Inc., the nation’s leading voice for children’s environmental health at school and a national-award-winning 501(c)3 not-for-profit seeks an Executive Director to work with the Board to advance children’s environmental health and improve environmental conditions of schools.
HS Network, established in 1995, is an equal opportunity employer and virtual office, with contractual staff, and interns in several locations, and an active board of national advisers. Federally, it has secured new funds and authorizations for US EPA to address Air Pollution and other hazards in schools, and for Education to advance research. It coordinates a broad-based and loosely held national Coalition for Healthier Schools to provide the “platform and forum” for environmental health at school. Visit www.HealthySchools.org for more information about who we are and what we do.
Our Executive Director and founder is retiring after 30 years of national leadership and can be available for a leadership transition period, as needed.
The successful candidate will have previous state and federal-level policy experience, not for profit office experience in the areas of public health, environment, journalism, disaster preparedness, and or K-12 education. The person will report to the Board and provide staff leadership for all aspects of the organization, including strategic planning and fund-raising, national and state outreach, policy development, advocacy, and office management. The candidate is expected to work independently and manage a remote office.
